Rooms are old news in the beauty business. These days, any treatment worth its chakra takes place in a chamber. On entering the Rasul chamber at the Elemis Spa in London (all twinkly lights and mosaics), you apply a selection of muds to different parts of your body. Once you're covered in the stuff, you just sit back and take in the beautiful room while the heat dries the mud on your skin. Then, after half an hour, awarm 'tropical rain shower' falls, washing away the mud. We shattered the calm at this point, however, by shrieking with shock, but luckily there wasn't anyone else around to hear us. Best enjoyed with a friend - it's a perfect place to catch up on all that gossip - or with the partner, although it would take a brave girl to suggest to her man that they cover themselves in mud and just sit and relax.
